If you’re looking for a place to stay in Samseong-dong, Seoul, Shilla Stay Samsung is a great option. It’s modern, affordable, and in a great location, perfect for those traveling to Seoul for business or pleasure.

Shilla Stay Samsung is located near Samsung Station, making it very accessible. Samsung Station is located on Line 2 of the Seoul Subway and is very close to the main areas of Gangnam.

It’s just three stops from Jamsil Station, providing easy access to major tourist destinations like Lotte World and Seok-chon Lake.

Samseong-dong is also one of the centers of Gangnam, with plenty of places to eat and see, making it an ideal place to enjoy Seoul.

The hotel’s exterior reflects the luxury of the neighborhood with a modern, sleek design. Upon entering the hotel, travelers are greeted with modern interiors and an uncluttered lobby that is both comfortable and luxurious.

Check-in takes place on the 21th floor, where you’ll find one of the hotel’s strongest points: the stunning views.

Shilla Stay Samsung’s location is very special, especially when it comes to views, and the city views offered by this hotel are comparable to many of the luxury hotels in the area.

The hotel’s night view of COEX and Yeongdong-daero is a great advantage of this hotel, and it is comparable to the impressions of luxury hotels such as Parnas Hotel, Oakwood Premier, and Park Hyatt.

The rooms at Shilla Stay Samsung are not just modern in design, but also carefully organized for practicality.

The rooms are equipped with an iron and ironing board, shower robes, slippers, and shoe spatulas as standard, providing convenience for business travelers and long-term guests.

These small touches ensure that travelers can relax without any inconvenience.

Bathrooms are also designed with a modern flair, with the option to choose between rooms with bathtubs and rooms with showers.

Rooms with bathtubs are particularly spacious, perfect for unwinding after a long day of traveling.

Bathroom amenities include luxurious Elemental Herbology products and are well stocked with other basic bathroom amenities.

The bedroom area is simple yet comfortable, with a king-size bed and large windows offering stunning views of the city.

The room is also equipped with a work desk and a sofa to fulfill both business and relaxation needs.

One of the biggest attractions of Shilla Stay Samsung is the city view. The hotel’s City View rooms offer spectacular views of the colorful cityscape of Samseong-dong, including Coex.

The hotel’s city view is not just a view of buildings, but the dynamic energy of the heart of Seoul.

The hotel’s up-close view of the 3D billboards that have become a landmark of COEX is a unique experience. With its colorful advertisements and 3D effects, it creates the illusion of a car driving through the screen, adding to the futuristic atmosphere of Seoul.

The view of Yeongdong-daero at night from here is representative of Seoul at night, and is an unforgettable experience for guests staying at Shilla Stay Samsung.

A stay at Shilla Stay Samsung isn’t just an experience within the walls of the hotel, either. Located nearby is COEX, Seoul’s largest shopping mall and home to a variety of cultural experiences.

COEX is famous in its own right, but the “Byul-madang” Library is a favorite among many. The Byul-madang Library is a work of art with its massive bookshelves and stylish interior.

It’s not uncommon to see people reading books or doing simple work here, but most visitors enjoy taking photos and soaking up the unique atmosphere.

The library is stocked with a variety of foreign magazines and books, adding to its international feel. It’s also a popular spot for foreign tourists, making it an important part of any trip to Seoul.

Another place that comes to mind when you think of COEX is the Megabox movie theater. With its state-of-the-art facilities and Dolby sound system, this movie theater brings the latest blockbusters to life.

The screens are very large and clear, and the sound system is state-of-the-art to maximize the immersive experience.

Watching a movie at COEX Megabox is more than just a movie, it’s a cultural experience that enriches your Seoul experience.

If you need a break after exploring COEX, we recommend “%Arabica Coffee“, an up-and-coming hot spot in Samseong-dong.

The cafe is known for its specialty coffees, and the iced “Kyoto latte” is a favorite among many.

“%Arabica Coffee” is located on the first floor of COEX and features bar-style seating where you can enjoy your coffee while looking out the window.

Order a cup of coffee here and sit by the window, where you can take in the colorful views of COEX and its surroundings and forget about the hustle and bustle of everyday life for a while.

The Iced “Kyoto Latte” is a must-try for coffee lovers, with its savory aroma, moderate acidity, and smooth milk.

The one downside to this cafe is that seating is very limited – there aren’t many places to sit, so it’s more of a drop-in, grab a coffee, and go kind of place than a long stay.

Nevertheless, the taste of the coffee and the atmosphere are enough to make this place a hot spot in Samseong-dong.

After a relaxing time at Percent Arabica Coffee, why not head over to Eggslut, another popular spot in Samseong-dong for dinner?

Eggslut is a famous franchise sandwich shop that once had long lines, but was brought in by SPC and became very popular.

Eggslut’s menu includes the Fairfax Sandwich and the Slut, both of which are signature Eggslut items and are loved by many.

Eggslut’s sandwiches are simple and delicious. However, a common complaint many people have is that they’re a bit pricey.

The bacon egg and cheese sandwich can be a bit too salty for some, but if you pair it with fresh orange juice, you can offset the saltiness and enjoy a balanced meal.

After dinner at Eggslut, it’s a good idea to head back to COEX’s Star Yard Library. At night, the place takes on a different charm than it does during the day.

During the winter months, the library hosts a light show where the 13-meter-high bookshelves and 70,000 books are transformed into a screen, creating a feast of light.
The light show at Byeomadang Library is one of the events that makes Seoul’s nights so special, and many people come to see it.

The tranquil atmosphere here, along with the magical scenery of books and lights, is a great way to escape from the daily grind and spend a few moments in a special place.

Now that we’ve covered some of Seoul’s modern hotspots, let’s take a look at some of the neighborhood’s old favorites. Samseong-dong is home to a number of hidden restaurants that have stood the test of time, and Ilmi Ssambap and Ilwoo Hall are two that are definitely worth checking out.

Ilmi Ssambap is a long-established ssambap restaurant in Samseong-dong, and it is a popular restaurant that is often crowded with office workers during lunchtime. Their signature menu is jeyuk ssambap, which is a delicious dish of meat wrapped with fresh vegetables.

The side dishes served here are made with the freshest ingredients, and you can enjoy a rich meal with the ssambap.

The ssambap is served with jjolmyeon, which is rarely seen in ssambap restaurants, and when wrapped in the ssambap, the flavors are unexpectedly harmonious.
Next on our list is Ilwoo Hall, a restaurant specializing in stewed stew with over 35 years of tradition. It originally started as a short rib restaurant, but the stew served for lunch became so popular that the restaurant is now famous for its stew.

The stew here is made with basic ingredients such as ham, sausage, tofu, and baked beans, and is simmered with just the right amount of seasoning to give it a deep, rich flavor.
The base of the stew at Yilu Hall is made with Shin Ramen noodles, which makes the flavor extra special. The broth served separately is not overly salty, but has a nice flavor that makes the stew even more enjoyable.

Eating here is more than just filling your stomach; dining at a restaurant with a long tradition makes you feel like you’re part of the history of Samseong-dong.
Shilla Stay Samsung’s modern design, affordable rates, and prime location in the heart of Samseong-dong make it the perfect choice for visitors to Seoul.

The hotel’s stunning city views and the variety of things to do and see in the neighborhood make it a great addition to any trip to Seoul.
On this trip, I was able to enjoy not only a comfortable stay at Shilla Stay Samsung, but also a variety of experiences in and around COEX that allowed me to explore Seoul’s colorful charms.

From hot spots in Samseong-dong to long-established restaurants, I was able to experience Seoul’s past and present at the same time.
We hope that our experience at Shilla Stay Samsung will help you plan your next trip, and we will continue to share more of Seoul’s hidden charms with you.
