Hitomi Honda will finally make her official debut in October 2024 in South Korea as a member of the new multinational girl group “Say My Name”.
She first started her idol career as a member of the Japanese group “AKB48” in 2014, and rose to fame in Korea in 2018 as a member of “IZONE”, which was formed through “Produce 48”.
After IZONE ended, he returned to AKB48, but in early 2024, he officially graduated from AKB48 and decided to pursue new challenges in South Korea.
“Say My Name” is a seven-member girl group being prepared by iNKODE, an entertainment company that includes Kim Jaejoong, formerly of “TVXQ(동방신기)” and “JYJ”.
The group is a multinational group consisting of four Koreans, two Japanese, and one Thai, and is aiming for a global audience based on their diverse cultural backgrounds.
Hitomi Honda was revealed as the last member and is expected to play a central role in the group.
Hitomi Honda also shared her thoughts on the debut on her social media accounts. She said that she was thinking about what to do next as she enters her 10th year, and is happy to have made a good connection with iNKODE, and vowed to “continue to grow without losing her roots”.
He thanked his fans for their support and expressed his determination to fulfill his dreams once again in this new challenge.
Hitomi Honda’s Korean debut marks the third former member of IZONE to return to a K-pop girl group. Sakura of “LE SSERAFIM” and Kim Chae Won of “LE SSERAFIM” have already made successful debuts, so this debut is also highly anticipated.
Say My Name’s debut is scheduled for October 16, 2024, and we’re looking forward to seeing what musical colors the group, led by Hitomi, will bring to the table.
