AESPA made history on the Korean music charts with “Supernova,” the title track of their recently released 1st full-length album.
The song topped major music charts such as Melon and Genie for 15 consecutive weeks, making it the longest-running song on top since 2005.
This set a new record, breaking the previous record of 14 consecutive weeks at #1 set by NewJeans’s “Dito.
“Supernova” captures the musical color of AESPA with its fast beat and strong lyrics, and has been a huge hit both at home and abroad. The song’s music video has been enthusiastically received by global fans with over 120 million views on YouTube.
In addition, the album’s other title track, “Armageddon,” and the rest of the album’s songs have been consistently ranking high on the charts, proving the power of AESPA’s music.
AESPA’s achievements are not limited to just music charts, as “Supernova” has also topped various music charts such as Melon, Genie, and Bucks.
The international success was also realized on Tencent Music in China, where the song was number one for six consecutive weeks, and AESPA also won 12 trophies on music programs such as Mnet’s “M Countdown” and SBS’s “Popular Song”.
This is not the first time AESPA has experienced success; they burst onto the K-pop scene with “Black Mamba” and have continued to grow with hits like “Next Level” and “Savage” since their debut.
“Next Level” helped expand their global fanbase, while ‘Savage’ proved their musical prowess by reaching the top of various music charts.
With the success of this album, AESPA has established themselves as an undisputed global girl group, and we look forward to seeing what they have in store for the future.
In addition to their upcoming debut in Japan, AESPA is also planning a concert tour for fans around the world, so we’re sure to see a lot more of them in the future.
